| This
book is constructed with drawings that I made from
1980 to 1998. They are the scenes which occured in
my mind, and they are drawn with oil, water
colour, pen, pencil, etching and so on. For each of these drawings, I did not decide on themes for particular presentations such as an exhibitions and they are more of a psychological diary depicted by drawings. Some of them I drew from the photograph that touched my emotions, howeverm, most of them are drawn automatically as they occur in my mind. I have always felt various shapes settling inside me. Sometimes they are very abstruct symbols, and other times they are define shapoes of human being, animals, and buildings. I feel that my mind will gradually get heavy if I do not get them out of me. I suppose what is called "a piece of work" is presented after going through several processes one by one. With this book, first, there was attempt to cut out "BUBUN" (sections) of "human figure" and reconstruct them with dispersed axis of time whereby renewed "BUBUN" (sections) would come to life that even I was not aware of. I will be very happy if there is something that can be shared with the world for those who get this book Shinro Ohtake outside of box: The Brain and
